Facebook Design Lecture Series invites design practitioners to share their insights and experiences with the broader community.
Anwar Bey-Taylor is Founder and Director of Mind Traveler Design (MTD), a video game development studio located in San Francisco, CA. With over 10 years’ experience as a professional video game developer, Anwar has worked with the most successful companies in the industry. Now, Anwar is leading Mind Traveler Design with the development of PLASMAworlds, a science-fiction action-adventure designed to take players to whole new worlds. PLASMAworlds is multi-platform entertainment industry IP, coming soon to virtual reality, video games, film, comic books and more. Worlds await.
Joining Anwar from Facebook Oculus, we will have Diversity Program Manager Ebony Peay who will be moderate the discussion while illuminating the connection between VR and Diversity and the impact that this intersection has had in the community. Together, the two will explore Anwar’s journey to a successful career in the arts, and his ability to build bridges and navigate a variety of support systems along the way.
From Anwar, what you will hear in my session – “In life, I have experienced many obstacles that come to life when bringing my dreams to fruition. In this talk I will share how I use design and the imagination to manage and control reality based stresses and the fictitious stresses, often times more vicious than actual reality. I will tell the story of my career and how I have learned to let wonder lead curiosity and curiosity stimulate growth, thus uncovering limitless possibilities that were once just seemingly intangible ideas and dreams”
We look forward to you joining us. Drinks and light refreshments will be provided.
ATTENDEES WILL NEED PHOTO ID TO CHECK IN.
