Break away from your desk to visit an amazing studio and listen to local design leaders present original perspectives that will inspire, shift or interrupt your relationship with the design space. After the presentation there will be a chance to ask questions and pick the brains of some of Seattle's brightest design minds. Our April lunch will be hosted by Slalom in their awesome space who will discuss:

PikeUp! How Two Agencies Built a Campaign and Digital Experience to Expand Pike Place Market

Since its founding in 1907, the Pike Place Market has been an iconic part of Seattle’s cityscape—a bustling destination for locals and tourists alike. With the ongoing overhaul of the Seattle waterfront, the market is poised to expand westward. As the project moves into its final funding phase, the Pike Place Market Foundation is taking strides to communicate its expansion plans and engage with the community.

The Market Foundation wanted a vibrant, mobile-friendly website to provide helpful information at the point of need that could communicate its key messages about the Market and its plans for growth. Just as crucial was an interactive ecommerce component, to help kick off a public fundraising drive, called Pike Up!, to raise the $9 million needed to complete the project’s $66 million price tag.

Join Slalom, Wexley School for Girls, and the Pike Place Market Foundation as they discuss the process of creating a compelling campaign idea, infusing that into a responsive digital experience, and launching a campaign to complete the 40-year vision of the historic district and connecting the Market to Seattle’s waterfront.
