Seattle Arts & Lectures Poster Design-a-Thon

This is not your normal design class, so please hang in there with us. Instead, you and your classmates will get the chance to design a poster for Seattle Arts & Lectures 2016-2017 season. If you don’t know who SAL is, then head over here to read about the truly staggering list of speakers they’ve brought to Seattle since 1988. If you’re still tracking with us, here’s how the class will unfold:

» You’ll start out with a client briefing from the executive director or associate director of SAL

» Jeff Kleinsmith and Sasha Barr from Sub Pop Records will serve as your creative directors as you develop your poster concepts

» You’ll present your ideas back to your SAL client who will choose one to be produced and plastered all over town

» Whether you come up with the winning idea or not, you’ll still get something new for your portfolio

» As a way of saying thank you, SAL will give every member of the class a comp ticket to see the Moth Mainstage at Benaroya Hall on May 18th

» Every student’s proposed design will be on display at Benaroya Hall on SAL’s opening night, as well as on their blog
