ART IN PUBLIC SPACES
Angelina Villalobos
Quail
Saturday 10:45 – 12:15pm | Saturday 2 – 3:30pm

One workshop’s not nearly enough time to learn the intricacies of letterpress, but there's plenty of inky shenanigans to be had when you stick to basics and shoot from the hip — especially when you have the landscape of Sleeping Lady Lodge as your muse. Using natural materials foraged from the forest floor, you’ll learn how to use collograph & pressure printing techniques to create unique pictorial and typographic monoprints. You’ll also enjoy playing with SVC's collection of wood type and imagery, experimenting both on and off press with hand-inking and overprinting. You’ll be delighted by what happens when you loosen the grip on creative control and let the ink fall where it may.

LETTERPRESS
Amy Redmond
Woodpecker
Saturday 10:45 – 12:15pm | Saturday 2 – 3:30pm

DESIGN FOR INCLUSION
Jeanine Spence
Flicker
Friday 2–3:30pm | Saturday 10:45 – 12:15pm

Inclusive Design considers the full range of human diversity to deliver better experiences for everyone and challenges us to reinvent our practice. Using examples and reflection, we will examine our design practices to reveal ways in which we unintentionally create exclusion and define new approaches to shift our design practice so that we support inclusion right from the start.

FEARLESS DRAWING
Bruce Morser

Friday 2 – 3:30pm | Saturday 2 – 3:30pm

Bruce regularly teaches Creativity & Drawing to a wide variety of professional and academic audiences. He has taught at many Seattle schools including The School of Visual Concepts, Seattle Academy of Arts & Science, Cornish College of the Arts, and the Art Institute of Seattle.

CREATIVELY-CLUTIVATED ALPHABETS
Jeff Barlow
Nuthatch
Friday 2 – 3:30pm | Saturday 10:45 – 12:15pm

To say Jeff's design enthusiasm is contagious would be an understatement. He has shared his love of design, concept, and typography with anyone who will listen, from individuals to large groups. He is a creative director at Boeing Creative Studio, and was principal and creative director at Jelvetica here in Seattle.

SCULPTURE IN THE RAW
David Kendall
Tadpole
Saturday 10:45 – 12:15pm

Join David for the creative workshop that actually goes into the woods. We’ll wander through the beautiful wilderness that surrounds the resort. Working with found natural objects we’ll create a collection of completely natural art sculptures and installations. This is the workshop for those seeking a digital de-tox and a relaxing, meditative experience in the woods!

CHILLING & SPILLING: AN INTRODUCTION TO VISUAL JOURNALING
Steffanie Lorig
Tadpole
Friday 2 – 3:30pm | Saturday 2 – 3:30pm

Join artistic cultivator, Steffanie Lorig, in exploring techniques and methods she's perfected over the years that invite both artistic experimentation and self-reflection, helping channel creativity and inspire unexpected yet personally meaningful expression. The workshop will offer time for self-reflection, along with technique demonstrations and hands-on practice in free-flow writing, painting, and collage.

UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVITY
Mark Siversten
Dipper | Nuthatch
Saturday 10:45 – 12:15 | Saturday 2 – 3:30

Did you ever want to expand your creativity beyond the commercial space but haven’t pursued it because you don’t believe you have the talent or motivation? Creativity is a way to express ourselves and we’re not limited to one endeavor. In fact, we can learn to expand our creativity in our chosen field by stretching what we think we are capable of. In this workshop you’ll learn strategies for discovering your expressive voice, how to motivate yourself and leverage the power of habit to move forward naturally and achieve more than you ever thought possible.
