Jesse Doquilo
AIGA Seattle Fellow 2000
President Emeritus (1996–1998)

Fellow Award Recognition

Jesse Doquilo served on the AIGA Seattle board for 10 years. Notable accomplishments include serving as technology chair, running the first ever AIGA Basketball tourney and chairing the Holiday Stockings Art Auction.

He is most proud of the tireless 18 person board and countless committee members that served when he was President. These board members started Art with Heart, Design Chat, resurrected a design awards show that had been dormant for years, ran a design camp, the Current’s New Media conference, helped to start Link, and grew AIGA Seattle’s membership to over 600 at the time.

He was fortunate to be Seattle’s second recipient of the Fellows Award and the 16th nationwide. Jesse has always been a strong believer that AIGA offers designers at any level the opportunity to make a difference in their design community – you just have to have a passion for design and get involved. Jesse is currently having a blast doing free-lance work and designing furniture for his company Modern-Object. He also co-owns a gallery and design retail store in Edmonds called Zinc Art + Interiors with his wife Laura Zeck (another former president).
